What is patellar tendonitis? Is it the same as “jumper’s knee”?
Patellar tendonitis or “jumper’s knee” is an inflammation of the patellar tendon. This injury is commonly seen in jumping sports such as basketball, volleyball, and other high impact sports. Typically the pain is felt below the knee cap after exercise. Treatment includes rest, ice, medications to relieve pain and reduce inflammation, and rehabilitation exercises.
