Question:

Do supplements available on the market for joint health work? Should I be proactive and start using them before all the cartilage in my knees is gone?

Answer:

There is no scientific evidence to suggest that taking a supplement prior to the development of osteoarthritis helps prevent arthritis in the future. The scientific research to date has been controversial regarding the benefit of joint supplementations such as glucosamine choindrotin. Some literature supports its use and other studies have failed to show benefit from the use of these supplements.
